Why Ebarudasu?

During a January 2026 trip to Japan, my wife explained how "Evaldas" might be adapted into Japanese. I tried introducing myself as "Evarudasu." People laughed kindly. I only understood why later: the b/v version, "Ebarudasu," sits close to a small joke about acting important. For a site of public notes and opinions, that seemed like a useful warning.

I work in financial crime prevention in Vilnius. My work has covered sanctions, reporting, analytics, AML systems, onboarding, investigations, and research. This site keeps public posts, project links, and related material in one place. The first posts here were imported from LinkedIn.

Most of the above reads dry on purpose. This site is not strictly professional, though: the projects page also has a Zen archive mindmap and a street-alignment tool, because a personal site is apparently where side interests go to be listed next to a job history.
